bangladesh november 24 2012A group of civil society climate networks along with 12 international networks on Saturday launched a postcard campaign containing human stories and demands related to the rights for 'climate forced migrants'.

They launched the international post card campaign with human stories on the eve of Doha Climate Conference at a press conference at the National Press Club in the city.

Organisers said that they will distribute these postcards globally especially among the policy makers who will be participating in Doha climate conference from November 26 to December 7 this year.

Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA), Bangladesh Indigenous People Network for Climate Change and Bio Diversity (BIPNetCCBD), Climate Change Development Forum (CCDF), Climate Finance Governance Network (CFGN), Campaign for Sustainable Rural Livelihood (CSRL), Equity and Justice Working Group Bangladesh (EquityBD) and Network on Climate Change Bangladesh (NCCB) organised the press conference.

They said twelve international civil society networks expressed solidarity with them in the campaign and they will also carry out campaign in Doha along with their respective countries on the issue.

The press conference was moderated by Rezaul Karim Chowdury of EquityBD while other speakers were Sudipta Chakma of BIPNentCCBD, Zakir Hossain Khan from CFGN, Mizanur Rahman Bijoy of NCCB and Tapahs Chkraborty of CSRL.
