Asian tax justice alliance joins GATJ reps in Action Aid – Oxfam Tax Justice Together Campaigners’ Conference

TAFJA (through Mae Buenaventura of APMDD and Rakesh Mittal of INSAF) participated in the “Tax Justice Together” Campaigners’ Conference last 22-23 November in Warsaw, Poland. The conference is part of the Tax Justice Together project of Action Aid and Oxfam, aimed primarily at “putting tax justice at the heart of the European agenda”.  We were invited as a regional alliance together with other representatives of the Global Alliance for Tax Justice (GATJ) to contribute to the following objectives of the project:

Initial Response from Climate Justice Groups to Marrakech Outcomes

(November 18, Marrakech) - As U.N. climate change negotiations concluded several hours over time after countries grappled with how to work out the rule book for the Paris Agreement, climate justice advocates issued the following reactions.

"At the end of these two weeks we just want to express our extreme disappointment that no clear and concrete increases in climate finance pledges have been put forward by developed country governments," said Lidy Nacpil of the Asian Peoples' Movement on Debt and Development.
